I have a very deep core memory of playing Sonic 2 on a display console at the mall with my dad- he bought me a genesis that very next Xmas, and I’ve been a blue blur fan since. Recently revisited Sonic 2+3+Knuckles and was inspired to make some fanart.

Painting this piece, I felt a little like being a level designer. I kept picturing how you’d speed your way through it, the sound effects. Those annoyingly placed spikes. Originally this painting was supposed to be ¼ the size and take a lot less time, but I just had too much fun- those are the best projects. All versions of this print also come with a bonus “find it: sheet with all the little easter eggs hidden throughout the painting. There are 119 rings. I counted.
